Mount St Helens: The Most Catastrophic Volcanic Eruption In US History
In 1980, the active volcano of Mount St Helens in Skamania Country, Washington erupted. The eruption was preceded by two months of violent volcanic activity and blew out the entire north side of the volcano in what is the largest subaerial landslide in recorded history.
