Cold Rock | The Untold Story of Finnish Climbing
In 1954, Finnish medical student Matti A. Jokinen traveled across Europe and found himself standing beneath one of the world’s most iconic peaks — the Matterhorn in Zermatt. Soon after, he stood on its summit. That moment sparked something unexpected: the birth of Finnish climbing. Cold Rock (2015) tells the remarkable story of how a climbing culture developed in a country with no mountains, where cliffs are hidden in dense forests and winters freeze the rock for nearly half the year.
