This documentary follows children in China living with the stigma of abandonment, cared for in the Sun Villages founded by Mrs Zhang Shuqin. Through the stories of Miao Miao, her brother Xiaolong and others, it reveals the heavy pasts these young people carry and the fragile hope offered to them. It shines a light on a hidden population of forgotten and unloved children. A moving watch about childhood, compassion and the human cost of shame in modern China.
