Across Villages and Fields: Jinju, China's Wandering Opera
This documentary follows a small travelling opera troupe in the remote landscapes of northern China as it keeps the ancient art of Jinju alive. Blending music, dance and theatre, these wandering performers carry one of the country's oldest traditions from village to village. Through their journey it captures both the beauty of the craft and the struggle to preserve it. Rich and atmospheric, it honours an endangered art form and the people devoted to it.
