Roswell, the one that started it all, where in July 1947 the army announced it had recovered a flying disc and then un-announced it within hours, which is exactly the move you make when nothing happened. I find the retraction far more interesting than the crash. Seventy-odd years later, the weather balloon story has been revised so many times that the cover story now needs its own cover story. That, to me, is the tell.

On July 8th, 1947 the US army claimed to have found a 'flying disk'. But within hours they retracted the statement. Sixty years later, and the debate is still raging. Did the military recover dead aliens and their spaceship? If true, the US government has kept one of the greatest secrets in history; that we are not alone in the universe.
